My beloved brothers and sisters in the name of Him who carried and died on the cross at Calvary, then on the third day arose from the grave with ALL power in His hands, (Jesus Christ) for if He had only died, and not arose, our hope would be empty, our faith would be useless and we would yet abide in our sin. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory! Victory over death, victory over the grave, victory over sin, and victory over the devil. For truly this is the reason Jesus came. This is the reason He suffered bled, died and arose. But we must believe in Him (Jesus).

Let us take a moment to clarify the difference in believing in Him verses believing about Him!  For example, you may have heard of or know about a person; notice of and about are key words. You may have heard of or know about some facts pertaining to their life. But if you have not met Him; spent some time with Him or developed a relationship with Him, you don’t know Him! Let us pause for a moment and ask ourselves do I really know Him (Jesus).

The Scripture teaches us according to St. John1:10-12 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and His own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

Let us remember His suffering, His triumph, and the reason He did it all.  I encourage all, take time to know Him.

May God’s richest blessings be upon you. My prayer is that I’ll see you in church on Sunday!

Your Humble Servant
In the Master Care,

Rev. Dr. James E. Dukes
